VIDA, Volunteers for Definitive Adventures, seeks translators for medical mission groups in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama. VIDA is a non-profit humanitarian volunteer organization that provides free basic medical, dental, and veterinary care to needy communities in Central America. Candidates should be fully bilingual in Spanish and English and ideally have translation experience. Candidates should have a working knowledge of medical vocabulary in Spanish and English, a current passport, ability to travel with the group inside and outside of Costa Rica.
Candidates must have a positive attitude, good sense of humor, and enjoy working with young adults. Translators are needed in the months of January, March, May, June, July, August, September, and December for up to 2 to 12 days.
Teamwork, respectfulness, high integrity, and flexibility are needed for this position.
Candidates must have the ability to stay in basic conditions with no electricity, no running water, and basic food for several days.
